What a way to start our week off and take our mind off of the hot temperature. Carl Coffee, one of our regulars for lunch came in with a large box of donuts! A very special thank you and appreciation goes out to Family Dollar of Mexia, who so generously donated to all of our centers in Freestone County a large supply of cookies. It was very rewarding being able to distribute the cookies to folks who really appreciated and enjoyed them! Thank you to Leslie Root for the deliciously moist chocolate coconut marble and strawberry creme cake slices she donated to sweeten up our lunch.
Property values in Freestone County showed single-digit percentage increases for most taxing entities, with gains coming from residential real estate and continued losses shown from oil and gas values.
