Senior Center News

Another hot week for our volunteer drivers and guests who were brave enough to come down to the Senior Center for lunch. We are blessed to have a nice and cool building to meet and enjoy good fellowship, lunch and a cup of coffee or cold glass of sweet or unsweet tea. Thanks to Charnell Robison for the peach tea we will be making this week. Thanks to Mike and Colleen for the paper plates and large and small bowls.

Teague’s Ketch Weaver will perform his trick-roping show for the first time ever in his hometown Thursday when he highlights the 92nd Annual Mexia Rodeo put on by the Mexia Area Chamber of Commerce.

It’s a spiritual problem

Just recently this nation witnessed the killing of innocent children and two teachers in Uvalde, Texas. Our hearts go out to the parents and grandparents and families and friends of these precious children who thought they would be coming home from school that day just like any other day. But that wasn’t so. That’s not what happened. I think the only solace we can receive and that these precious families can draw upon is the fact that their children are now in the hands of Jesus Christ in the Kingdom of Heaven, and Satan can no longer get his hands on them. Surely our prayers are still with them and we must not forget, for they surely can’t.
