The Teague Board of Aldermen approved raising fees for commercial water service, as well as residential and commercial sewer. They voted on the measure during the Tuesday, July 5 meeting.
Fairfield Lake State Park was the place to be on Saturday morning, July 9, as KNES 99.1 hosted its 20th Annual Kid Fish Derby from 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. Approximately 350 kids came out to fish during the event.
Freestone County commissioners agreed at their July 11 meeting to a pay raise and also a one-time supplement to help county employees deal with the high inflation rate. They also kept the burn ban in place at both their July 6 and July 11 meetings.
Of the four Freestone County cities that receive sales tax income, two are showing an increase from monthly totals a year ago, and all but one are ahead for the year.
