What first seemed like an unfortunate coincidence is becoming a familiar trend, as Freestone County lost another resident this week to COVID-19, the third in as many weeks since the beginning of 2022, which brings the death toll to 76 since March of 2020.
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission is again extending emergency food benefits this month, with more than $307 million in emergency allocations expected to help more than 1.5 million Texas households.
It’s hard to believe that January is almost halfway over. Growing up, the days seemed so long. However, now as an adult, it seems as if there just isn’t enough time in the day to get things done.
As we had the anniversary of the attack on the Capital, or some refer to as good old boys just having some fun, I am reminded of Winston Churchill’s statement, “Democracy is the worst form of government there is, except for all the others.”
