After being in executive session for two hours tackling four agenda items on Monday evening, July 10, the City of Teague Board of Aldermen reconvened and terminated Theresa Bell’s employment effective July 10 as the city administrator/ city secretary due to “lack of confidence.”
Freestone County residents have a few days left to burn trash before a county- wide burn ban is expected to be declared.
Approximately 200 citizens gathered at the Freestone County Courthouse in Fairfield on Thursday, July 6, where Shawn Todd, founder of Todd Interests, disputed accusations and claims made by state officials who want to seize Todd’s property. It was Todd’s first time to speak publicly about purchasing the property, which includes the Fairfield Lake State Park.
