The city of Teague officially has three new municipal leaders in office now, including the mayor and two aldermen. Voters submitted their votes for change in the May 7 election.
The city of Teague officially has three new municipal leaders in office now, including the mayor and two aldermen. Voters submitted their votes for change in the May 7 election.
Newly elected Teague Mayor David Huffman, right, and Fairfield Mayor Kenneth Hughes pledge to work together for the betterment of both cities during a reception Thursday, May 12, at Tri-County Golf Club at the Vineyards – about halfway between the two cities. Council members and well-wishers from both cities attended the event.
Although the Teague City Aldermen meeting Monday, May 16, was the last regularly scheduled meeting in which they would work together to make decisions for the community, they did so flawlessly and expediently.
Almost 100 girls are scheduled to compete in the Miss Freestone County Pageant during the 100th anniversary of the Freestone County Fair and Rodeo.
While early voting continues today and Friday for the Texas statewide primary runoff races, remaining voters will go to the polls on the official Election Day, Tuesday, May 24, to cast their ballots. There are four Democratic races and three Republican races.
