In the late afternoon Wednesday, March 25, the Senate and House passed a $2 trillion economic stimulus package that would increase funding for state and local governments, federal agencies and hospitals to help with the response to the COVID-19 crisis.

The meal program is available for those ages 2-18, in support of students that have taken an unexpected hiatus from school. The Freestone County Sheriff’s Office detained a subject following a traffic stop Wednesday night, March 25. Lieutenant Robert Willis and Deputy Mike Darby initiated a traffic stop on State Highway 84 in Teague for a traffic violation. Following a computer check, a passenger in the vehicle was found to have an active parole warrant. A personal search revealed he was in possession of methamphetamine and benzodiazepine pills. The man was arrested without incident and transported to the Freestone County Jail.
