Baseball season is heating up for the Teague Lions, with several wins under their belts. The varsity team maintained a lead over the Fairfield Eagles for most of the matchup Monday, March 2. The Eagles fought back for control in the latter half of the game, with successful steal attempts throughout. Despite the Eagles’ attempts to load the bases, steal and score big, quick moves from the Lions resulted in a 6-4 lead by the end.
The mighty Teague Lion High School Band earned straight ones from all six judges, as well as the Sweepstakes Award, at the UIL Sight Reading & Concert Competition last Friday. The critique was held in Groesbeck on Wednesday, March 4th.
Adelina James’ two-run double capped a seven-run fifth inning which propelled Teague to a 10-9 victory over Mexia in a non-district softball game in Teague on Monday.
The fast improving Groesbeck Lady Goats inflicted the third loss in District 20-3A play on the Teague Lady Lions on Friday, Feb. 7, in Groesbeck.
