Lady Lions suffer third district loss ... remain in second place

The fast improving Groesbeck Lady Goats inflicted the third loss in District 20-3A play on the Teague Lady Lions on Friday, Feb. 7, in Groesbeck.
The 56-38 Groesbeck win was a complete reversal of their first district meeting in Teague when the Lady Lions won 53-42.
The Lady Lions led 21-18 at halftime. However, Groesbeck outscored Teague 16-10 in the third period and then finished off the Lady Lions with a 22-7 scoring edge in the fourth period.
Despite the loss, the Lady Lions remained in second place with an 8-3 district mark. Their other two losses have been to undefeated district leader Buffalo.
