Senior Center

Oh my goodness I cannot believe the cold mornings. It has been very pleasant for my drivers on Route 1 and 2 delivering the meals. Although the weather forecast for temperatures elevating to highs in 80s even 90 on weekends. Every⁴3 weone enjoyed an especially good meal last Monday. It was one of our favorites on the menu, hamburger steak with brown gravy and onions, fried okra, delicious macaroni and cheese and fresh pineapple. Thanks to Carol Biggar and Vicki Cheek for not only delivering the meals twice a week on Route 2, they also both alternate going to Fairfield to bring the lunches over to our Center in Teague. Thanks to Pat Holleyman for the delicious Cherry poke cake Tuesday. Thanks to Debbie tugwell for the assortment of glazed donuts Wednesday morning. We Bingoed early Wednesday haha. Thank You to Mike Necker for the Half and self coffee creamer.

A Day In The Life

I am retired. I have been for many years now. I don’t punch anyone’s clock, I don’t have to be somewhere at a given time and leave at a given time. I’m on my own time. Now, I’m not trying to demean anyone who is still working and must work so that all their bills can be paid. These folks are still singing the Snow White and seven little guys song, “I owe, I owe, so it’s off to work I go!” I sang that song for many years, and for the most part, it was a good song to sing behind a good job. Paul taught in Ephesians that the one who had “sticky hands” should steal no more, but rather let him work with his hands, so that he might have something to give to the one who is in need. And the law of the Sabbath, in Exodus said, “Six days shall you do your work, and on the seventh day you shall rest.” “Work” may be a four-letter word, but it’s a good word, and worthy of all acceptation.
