A Day In The Life

I am retired. I have been for many years now. I don’t punch anyone’s clock, I don’t have to be somewhere at a given time and leave at a given time. I’m on my own time. Now, I’m not trying to demean anyone who is still working and must work so that all their bills can be paid. These folks are still singing the Snow White and seven little guys song, “I owe, I owe, so it’s off to work I go!” I sang that song for many years, and for the most part, it was a good song to sing behind a good job. Paul taught in Ephesians that the one who had “sticky hands” should steal no more, but rather let him work with his hands, so that he might have something to give to the one who is in need. And the law of the Sabbath, in Exodus said, “Six days shall you do your work, and on the seventh day you shall rest.” “Work” may be a four-letter word, but it’s a good word, and worthy of all acceptation.
