David Wiley “Big Ben” Barnes Sr. of Fairfield entered into rest on Aug. 3, 2022, in Fairfield. Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 4, at Cowboy Heritage Church of Freestone County with Pastors Jimmy Cotton Jr. and Jimmy Cotton Sr. officiating. Interment followed at Bonner Cemetery. Pallbearers were Conrad Hagen, Kip Stuver, Jeff Yates, Bubba Brown, Bobby Thompson, Sid Lott, Tracy Betser, and Frank Bonner. Honorary pallbearers were the I-45 Coffee Crew and David’s fellow TU Mine Workers.
Karyn Elaine Taylor Richards passed peacefully from our world on Aug. 3, 2022, at her home in Hewitt. Karyn is survived by her husband, Jerry; her three children, Traci, David, and J.W.; and her grandchildren, Kassi, Kasen, Alex, Payton, David Jr., Jackson, Brady, and Elliott. Additionally, Karyn is survived by her sisters, Kay Taylor and Kris Ivy. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Kolton, her mother Bobbee Dee, and father Bobby Jack. Karyn was born in Teague, Texas on June 16, 1950. Karyn and Jerry were married Aug. 21, 1976 and lived in Fairfield and Steward’s Mill most of her life. She was a member of the Steward’s Mill Church congregation.
Ruth Jeaneane (Reed) Prichard of Donie passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Ascension Providence Hospital in Waco, following a brief illness, at age 87.
Funeral services for Steve Beaird, 70, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, at First United Methodist Church in Teague. David McAdams and the Rev. Jeffrey Craft officiated. Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery.
