The Teague Lion Marching Band will be looking spiffy for the 2023-2024 school year as the TISD school board approved purchasing 100 new band uniforms totaling $47,555 at the Feb. 28 TISD school board meeting. The current band uniforms were purchased in 2016 and are seven years old. All board members were present.
On Feb. 28, a Limestone County jury convicted Colbin John Wright on two felony charges.
With the closure of Fairfield Lake State Park, several inquiries have been made about the wildlife on the property.
Local non-profit GoingBallistic. org awarded its first rifle- resistant ballistic shield to Freestone County Sheriff’s Department, Sheriff Jeremy Shipley, on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at the Freestone County Courthouse. The event marks the first major milestone for the new non profit, as it strives to put rifle-resistant ballistic shields into the hands of smaller law enforcement departments throughout Texas, starting with its more than 190 rural communities.
