Teague ISD updated their calendar once again this school year following the winter storm this past month. All accelerated instruction days were removed from the calendar. The dismissal time at Teague Junior High and Teague High School were also extended to 3:40 p.m.
The City of Teague received water and hot meals to pass out to citizens Friday afternoon, Feb. 26. They city partnered with Brookshire Brothers to pass out the free water and meals to families inside the store. For the first time since reporting began in July, no new cases of COVID-19 have been detected in students or staff throughout Freestone and Limestone county schools.
The parent company and wholesale electric provider of two of the large electric cooperatives that serve Freestone and Limestone Counties has filed for bankruptcy, after receiving a $2.1 billion bill from the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) for seven days of service during last month’s historic winter freeze.
