The U.S. Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe vs. Wade effectively ends all legal abortions in Texas within the next 30 days, many news media outlets reported.
There is an old saying that if you are not progressive when you’re young, you have no heart; and if you’re not conservative when you’re old, then you have no brain. Another famous quote is by Donald Rumsfeld, former Secretary of Defense, about the Iraq War: “You go to war with the army you have, not the army you wish you had.” So, what does this have to do with the price of potatoes? The answer is: demographics.
State Comptroller Glenn Hegar last week released his agency’s plan to support the expansion of broadband internet access to areas with limited or no access. Hegar and his agency’s Broadband Development Office received feedback through a series of town halls, virtual discussions and more than 16,000 responses to a survey.

This past week was very busy but fun at the 2022 Freestone County Fair. It was a great celebration for the centennial anniversary of the fair and rodeo. The board of directors did an outstanding job planning it.
