THS honors its top athletes for 2020-21 school year
Coaches, athletes and their families enjoyed a gathering last week to celebrate the top athletes of the year, including Most Valuable Players, Lion Heart Award winners and the 2021 Teague High School Male Athlete of the Year.
Senior Nemier Herod was awarded the Male Athlete of the Year award, as well as the 2021 Basketball MVP, and the 2021 Baseball Golden Glove Award. Herod is committed to East Central University in Oklahoma, where he will play football for the Tigers.
He also was awarded the Most Valuable Offensive Player in football at the fall awards breakfast.
Other MVP and Lion Heart Award winners include Nate Evans, 2021 Golf Co-MVP; Conner Buck, 2021 Offensive MVP Silver Slugger Award; Carson Sifford, 2021 Powerlifting Lion Heart Award; Jake Callahan, 2021 MVP Varsity Baseball; Luke Stacks, 2021 Powerlifting MVP, Baseball MVP and Golf MVP; Kemauri Evans, 2021 Track Lion Heart Award; Jehmel Rice, 2021 Basketball MVP and Track Lion Heart Award.
