Teague opens post season with 58-56 win over Rice

After leading by 16 at the half, the Teague Lions had to fend off the fierce charge of the Rice Bulldogs the rest of the game, but a two-point bucket by Tyrese Heard with 2.3 seconds to play gave the Orange and White the 58-56 bi-district win to advance to the area round of the Class 3A basketball playoffs.

Teague led by 10 after the first period of play Tuesday night at Tiger Gymnasium in Corsicana.
