Teague Lions, Lady Lions compete at area meet

The Teague Lions and Lady Lions were at Cameron Yoe’s track Tuesday, April 16 to compete against all the other teams in their district, 20-3A, and in 19-3A in the area meet to send teams to the Regional finals at Midway High School, Friday and Saturday, April 26-27.

Each school sent its team members who had placed fourth or higher in the events in their district meets a week earlier.

The same format was followed at the area meet; the top four finishers in each event will be at Midway this weekend trying to become one of the top two finalists that go on to the state meet in Austin May 10.

There were 15 schools competing in the meet.

In the boys events, Nemeir Herod was sixth in the 100 yard dash The 4x 200 meter relay team of Azaya Patrick, Jarrett Bodine, Herod and Isaiah Bell came in fifth.

The 4 x 400 meter relay team of Chance Moore, Cody Fowler, Bodine and Hunter Mc-Donald finished seventh. Royce Bayless was seventh in the shot put.
