Teague easily takes Leon, 80-24

The Teague Lions were giants and certainly more athletic than the Leon Cougars at home on Jan. 16 with a no contest win of 80-24.

Teague’s coach Chris Hair said, “That is what we do. When we know what [kind of team we are up against] we tend to set the pace and go how we want to go. We are trying to be more consistent no matter who we play.”

The defense certainly won the game dominating the backboard with 17 defensive rebounds and 26 steals and with man-to-man defense, Teague forced a lot of turnovers.

“Our defense has come a long way,” said Hair. “Our defense is about a month behind as it should be because the football team went deep into the playoffs. I am still tweaking things fi guring out what they do well. It also helps when you are better and faster than the other team.”
