McClennan Community College gains a roaring softball player

After 10 years of hard work and dedication, Teague Lady Lion, Rebecca Parks, signed to play softball with McClennan Community College (MCC) Wednesday, Nov. 14.

Rebecca has been playing softball since she was seven years old and has always had a love and passion for the game.

“I just go out there and all my worries go away,” she said. “The skills have just always been there, and I go out and do it.”

She moved to Teague in the eighth grade when her father, Chris Parks, took the position of athletic trainer with the Lions after 18 years with the Mexia Independent School District.

“The differences in the schools are huge,” Rebecca said. “In Mexia, the pace was slow and that made it a little more difficult. When I moved here, everything moved at a faster pace and I work better in that type of environment.”
