Lions throttle Elkhart 47-39

The Lions traveled to Elkhart Friday, Jan. 8 to battle the Elkhart Elks in what first looked to be a lazy demonstration of Teague Lion basketball, but ultimately proved to be a great nail-biter, fourth-quarter comeback win.

Teague’s Varsity Boys Basketball team attacked the Elkhart Elks’ offense, holding them to 11 points, but fell flat on their own only managing to put up 9 points in the first quarter, 9-11. The Lions continued to trail behind the Elks offensively, tallying only an additional 5 points, but remained vicious on defense, holding Elkhart to 7 points in the second quarter, 14-18.

In an effort to pick up their slow offensive pace, Teague managed to tally 10 additional points, still being outscored one point by Elkhart with 11 points, but narrowing the gap to five points, 24-29.
