Lions take Cross Roads 37-22

Teague’s varsity boys basketball team came out to a slow start against the Cross Roads Bobcats, ultimately winning the low-numbers game without hitting their full stride.

The Lions established a lead quickly, knocking down 8 points, holding the Bobcats to 4 points in the first quarter, 8-4. The second quarter proved to be the same as the first as the Lions continued to lazily compete, putting up 9 points, keeping their advantage against Cross Roads. The Bobcats slugged behind, offering 8 points to the scoreboard and trailing behind the Lions, ending the first half 17-12.

The Lions proved that slow and steady wins the race as they returned from the locker room keeping the same pace. The Bobcats tallied 6 points in the third quarter, still falling behind the Lions’ 8 points and keeping the gap in place, ending the third quarter 25-18. Teague continued playing moderately offensively, but picked up the pace a bit defensively. The Lions made an additional 12 baskets, and stopped the Bobcats at 4 points, taking home the win 37-22.
