Lions take Buffalo by two
Teague’s Varsity Basketball Boys played a close game against the Buffalo Bison, ultimately pulling through with a two-point win.
Teague began the competition on good footing against the Bison. Sophomore Jake Callahan led the Lions with two 3-pointers in the quarter. The team pulled together to tally 15 points in the quarter. The Lions matched their offensive velocity on defense as they held Buffalo under 10 points, establishing a healthy lead over the Bison, 15-9. Hitting a slight roadblock, the Lions began to struggle to secure defensive rebounds. Buffalo outscored the Lions with 19 points. Seemingly shaken by their defensive shortcomings, the Lions were not able to successfully land shots, only adding 1 point to the board and losing their advantage, 26-28.
