Lions suffer second district loss

With a non-existent offense, and powerless defense, the Teague varsity Lions suffered their second district loss against the Franklin Lions on their own home court Tuesday, Jan. 12.

The Lions began the competition in control as they outscored Franklin with 13 points, holding Franklin to 8 and ending the first quarter 13-8. Teague seemed to halt on offense as they only put up 4 points in the second quarter, thanks to juniors Bryceson Black and Wayland Allison scoring 2 points apiece. Following their derailing offense, their defense allowed Franklin to score 11 points in the quarter. Franklin went into halftime with a two-point lead, 17-19.

Returning from the locker room, Teague attempted to get their train back on track as they tallied 12 points in the third quarter, but heir defense continued down the wrong path. Unable to handle Franklin’s press, the team proved itself powerless to stop Franklin’s offense from scoring 19 points.
