Lions fall to Franklin by 50 points

After traveling to Franklin, it proved to be a long Friday night for the Varsity Teague Lions as they were offensively shut down during the entire competition by the Franklin Lions.

Franklin offered no breathing room in the first quarter as they executed a nearly flawless press. They shut down Teague’s offense, only allowing them 6 points in the quarter. Gaining easy turnovers from Teague, and great shots from the field, Franklin tallied 25 points in the quarter, gaining themselves a nice lead, 6-25.

Teague continued fumbling shots in the field. Franklin’s press kept them from even being able to bring down the ball, but when they managed to get some shot attempts they just could not pull through. Thanks to some accurate free throws, and a few shots in the field, Teague managed to tally 10 points in the quarter. Franklin continued to fly by Teague on offense, adding 20 points to their lead. Sitting on a nearly 30-point lead, Franklin had practically won the game at half-time, 16-45.
