Lions fall to the Bulldogs 36-54

On Friday, Jan. 15, Teague’s Varsity Boys Basketball team hosted the Crockett Bulldogs. The Lions seemed to never find their footing offensively, leaving them lost in transition to defense and consequently giving a win to Crockett.

The Lions came out to a slow start against the Crockett Bulldogs. Juniors Bryceson Black and Wayland Allison, along with senior Xavier Harvey, managed to pull together and score 6 points for the Lions. Matching their flat offensive play, the Lions’ defense was unable to stop the Bulldogs from scoring 14 points in the quarter, 6-14. Trying to make up for lost time in the first quarter, the Lions tallied 11 points in the quarter, but missed free throws slowed their chances of catching up with the Bulldogs, especially since their defense continuously failed to keep them from scoring points in the field. Crockett scored 14 points in the quarter, keeping their lead, 17-28
