Lions defeat Goats; Malakoff looms
The Teague Lions marched up and down the Groesbeck field Friday, Oct. 27, outgaining the Goats 357 to 220. However, it took a last-minute touchdown and two-point conversion for the Lions to outlast the Goats 22- 20. The Goats scored with 7:41 to play in the game, narrowing the Lions lead to 14-13 after a failed pointafter kick. The next three minutes of the game were quiet, until Trevor Cooper made some noise on defense. He sacked the quarterback, but the Lions were called offsides.
Pretty much the entire defense got in on another sack on the next play, and Cooper broke through and got to the QB again to make it fourth-and-30 deep in Goats territory.
