Lions beat Mexia in OT

Friday night’s road game against the Mexia Blackcats turned out to be a wild fight to the finish; however, it would be the Teague Lions coming out the winner in overtime, 40-33.
The Lions started off the overtime period with the ball at the Mexia 25 yard line and ended their drive with the go-ahead touchdown to put them on top by 7 as Tayvis Coleman scored on a 4-yard run.
Mexia faced a fourth-and-13 from the 28 yard line on their overtime possession, but quarterback Travion Carter’s pass to the near sideline fell incomplete, thus ending the game.
