Lions’ FB season ends with 35-21 loss against Troy

A pride of Lions took the field for the first round of playoffs against the Troy Trojans in Mexia Thursday night. The Trojans circled their soldiers and dragged in the horse to take the game by a score of 35-21.

“If you aren’t sad and you don’t cry, then it didn’t mean anything to you,” Lion Athletic Director and head coach Donnie Osborn said. “You have been dreaming of playing football since you were young and this is the end for some of you. Of course it’s sad.”

The Lion team looked fired up and ready to face the challenge before them, however, 18 seconds into the game, Trojan running back, Zach Hrbacek, took the ball 50-yards for a touchdown and the first score of the game.

The Lion’s first possession started on the 19-yard line for their first drive. After two plays, the Lions found themselves in a third and two position. The ball was fumbled, but recovered only to set Lion Zack Satterwhite up for the first punt.
