Lion Stadium undergoes renovations

Teague Athletic Director Donnie Osborn and his football team will get to play their 2021 home football games on a newly resurfaced football field. The previous field was installed in 2011.

For the past month, Hellas Construction has been renovating Lion Stadium. The project began on Tuesday, June 1, and is scheduled to be completed by Aug. 1.

Renovations to the stadium include a new turf playing surface and a new track surface. A new sound system has already been installed at Lion Stadium. The project will cost Teague ISD about $1 million.

According to Osborn, some drainage-problem areas between Lane 8 and the bleachers on both sides were addressed this past spring. He noted there are some low spots located near the south end of the home stands along the sidewalk that will be addressed when all other construction is complete.
