Lady Lions rout Buffalo

Teague’s varsity softball team celebrated a decisive win on Tuesday, April 20, in a three-inning ball game against the Buffalo Lady Bison.

Attempting to quickly put the Lady Bison to rest, the Lady Lions wasted no time taking control of the ball game. With Adelina James waiting on base, Tori Skinner took to the plate and got a hit, sending James home. The points continued to rain in for the ladies as the Lady Bison proved powerless to stop them, and the Lady Lions took a 6-0 lead.

Buffalo’s unproductive offense was further matched by their non-existent defense. Falling further behind Teague, the Lady Bison were still unable to score in the second inning. Once again falling to score in the third inning, the Lady Bison called it quits, handing the win to the Lady Lions.

The Lady Lions managed 13 hits, thanks to Keely Mathis, Aubrey Cearly, Takoria Jones, Cate Satterwhite, Adelina James, Carson Carroll, Reese Stacks, and Korree Risken - 1 each; Tori Skinner - 2; and Kaylee Cuevas - 3. Cuevas hit2 home runs, and Skinner hit one.

Cuevas pitched two of the three innings played, gaining five strikeouts and allowing no hits. Stacks pitched for the third inning, only allowing 2 hits.
