Lady Lions fall to China Spring
The Lady Lions hosted the China Spring Lady Cougars this past week and fell 42-53 after taking a one point lead into the final quarter of play.
China Spring jumped out to a 20-8 lead after the first quarter of play. The Lady Lions came out and scored 16 points to the Lady Cougars 3 points in the second quarter to take a one point lead at halftime, 24-23.
Both Teague and China Spring scored 11 points in the third quarter as the Lady Lions took a one point lead into the final quarter of play, 35-34.
The Lady Cougars dominated the Lady Lions though in the final quarter of play by scoring 19 points and holding Teague to just 7 points. China Spring took home the 42-53 win over Teague.
Jolee Hayley led the way for the Lady Lions with 22 points. Reagan Heggins added 8 points, Laura Knight 5 points, Alexis Dancer 4 points, and Mallory Steen 3 points.
Teague traveled to Crockett on Tuesday night to begin district play. They will host Groesbeck on Friday and travel to Buffalo next Tuesday.
