Lady Lions defeat Elkhart 6-3; Fall to Fairfield 9-6
The Lady Lions defeated Elkhart 6-3 and fell to Fairfield 9-6 to move to 17-6 overall and 8-5 in district play.
On Tuesday night, the Lady Lions hosted the Elkhart Lady Elks and took the home win 6-3.
Reese Stacks scored for the Lady Lions in the bottom of the second after a single by Mollie Sims. Carson Carroll scored on a T.K. Jones sacrifice to give Teague a 2-0 lead.
In the bottom of the third inning, Kaylee Cuevas hit a solo homerun to centerfield to extend the Lady Lions lead to 3-0.
Delainey Long scored in the bottom of the fourth inning after a single by Adelina James to make it a 4-0 game.
The Lady Elks scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning to cut Teague’s lead in half, 4-2. In the bottom of the inning, Adelina James and Keely Mathis crossed home plate on a Tori Skinner single to centerfield to make it a 6-2 game.
