Guerrero signs to play volleyball at East Texas Baptist
Heading into her senior year at Teague High School, Macy Guerrero had her life pretty much figured out. She would graduate and attend Texas A&M and major in nursing.
Volleyball, a sport which she had played since the seventh grade, had no place in her future.
But as the poet Robert Burns wrote, “The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry.”
On Feb. 5, Guerrero signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at East Texas Baptist University.
“It feels surreal because at the beginning of the year I kind of panicked with what I wanted to do with my life,” Guerrero said in the Teague High School library after she signed. “We really didn’t plan for me to play volleyball. I was just going to go straight into learning. And then God just kind of laid it all out for me.”
