Abram goes for 300 on ground as Eagles sting Hornets
Led by relentless rushing and a career night from quarterback Justin Abram, the Fairfield Eagles advanced to 3-0 Friday night with a 45-25 win over Athens.
In just his third start under center for the Eagles, Abram finished with 28 rushes for 304 yards and four scores on the ground, as well as going 6-15 for 59 yards and a touchdown in the air, leading the team through a back-and-forth affair with the previously undefeated Hornets.
The 304 yards from the senior was part of a running game that racked up 479 yards, the fourth-highest mark of the decade for the Eagles. Abram’s yardage was the most from any Eagle since Robert Durham’s 316-yard effort on October 29, 2010.
