William Clifford Land

William Clifford Land, 78, passed away at his residence near Buffalo on Saturday, August 12, 2017. No public services are planned. He was born on December 27, 1938, in Oklahoma, and grew up there and joined the U.S. Navy in February of 1960. He received the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Medal, and the Vietnam service medal, before being honorably discharged. After his Navy service he moved to Houston where he went to work as a welder. He worked for G. E. for twenty-five years before retiring and purchasing a ranch with his beloved brother, Leroy, and moving to the country near Buffalo. He enjoyed his welding career and created many ornamental works including belt buckles, as well as his construction jobs. Mr. Land was an avid card and domino player and animal lover. He was a true family man and loved his brothers, children, and grandchildren very much. He is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Kay Alkire & husband Tracy, and Toni Cristina Land Foster & husband Rodney all of Dayton; one son, Samuel Matthew Land of Crosby; nine grandchildren, Christopher Roy Parker, David Michael Land, Kevin Christopher Land, II, Jackson Roy Parker, Skylar Thompson, Felicia Land, Montana Thompson, Jessica Dawn Foster, and Samantha Bell Land; one brother, Billy Frank Land; and lifelong friends, Tina Meshell and Christina Carreon. Mr. Land was preceded in death by one son, Kevin Christopher Land; his mother, Mollie Bell Land; his father, Clifford William Land; three brothers, J. D.
