TERRY RANDALL BEASLEY

Terry Randall Beasley, age 78, of Crockett passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020, at UT Health Jacksonville. Randall was born April 29, 1941, in Teague to parents Carl Alton Beasley and Mary Jane Moncrief Beasley. After graduating from Teague High School, he attended Navarro Junior College then graduated from Sam Houston State University, receiving his business degree.

Randall was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the United States Army. He was a member of the Oglewanagi Indian Dancers based in Mexia where he performed the Blue Corn Dance, the Old-Timers Dance, and the most popular Eagle Dance, they performed at the State Fair of Texas, the Cotton Bowl and Parade and the 1967 Dallas Cowboys-Green Bay Packers Championship Game at the Cotton Bowl. Randall was very involved in the Boy Scouts of America. He joined Scouts in the fifth grade and never quit. He served as assistance Scoutmaster in Fairfield and Crockett, and he started the Scouting program in Newton, serving as the Scout Master for Troup #36 from 1974-1987. He was a Vigil Honor Member of the Order of Arrow, he was given the name Eluwak Alappiechsin meaning, “Powerful Fast Talker.” In Scouting he also earned his Wood Badge Beads, the Bronze Pelican Award, the Silver Beaver Award, and the Cross and Flame Award.

He was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church, often attending the early service at Shiloh, and the Neighborly Sunday school class.

He worked for Con-Tel Telephone Company as an outside plant engineer retiring after many years. After his retirement, he worked as independent contractor for a few years, until they asked him to put it on computer.

Then he began his little company, Quick Trips, picking up and delivering parts for local businesses, or taking people to doctor appointments who could not take themselves. He also began cooking steaks at Leona General Store. He loved to attend southern Gospel concerts and conventions, and remained a loyal Crockett Bulldog and Newton Eagle, traveling many miles to support them.

Randall is survived by his wife, Jeane Beasley of Jacksonville; sons, Terry Beasley and wife Amanda of Bullard, John Carl Beasley and wife Annecye of Bullard; grandchildren, Weston Tompkins and wife Amy of Jacksonville, Duncan Mac-Duff of Bullard, Ashton Beasley of Bullard, Amera Beasley of Bullard, Amande Wangler and husband Joe of Shreveport, and Chancie Petty and husband Justin of Brownsboro; great-grandchildren, Grasen Morse, Livy Wangler, Kye Petty, Corbin Petty and Lawson Petty; sisters, Pat Chappell of Fairfield and Dean Nevills of Dew; sister-in-law, Sue Beasley of Teague.

He was preceded in death by parents, Carl Alton and Mary Jane Beasley and brother, Kenneth Beasley.

Funeral services for Terry Randall Beasley were held Saturday, Jan. 18, at the First United Methodist Church in Crockett with Dr. Jerry House officiating. Graveside services were held in the Antioch Luna Cemetery in Teague.
