PEGGY BASS MAYNARD

Peggy Bass Maynard, 87, passed away Sept. 26,, 2021, in St. Petersburg, Fla., where she lived with family.

Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Capps Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at Capps Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Leon Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Stewards Mill Cemetery.

Mrs. Maynard was born Oct. 8, 1933, in Fort Worth to parents, Clarence Daniel and Mary Francis Nettle Bass. Mrs. Maynard grew up in Levelland, and following graduation from high school she attended Wayland Baptist College and met her future husband, Jesse Wayne Maynard, who preceded her in death after 41 years of marriage.

They moved to Fort Worth to live and she finished her bachelor’s degree at Texas Wesleyan University. She taught 4-year-old’s in preschool for many years. She was also a Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church of Fairfield. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels in Fairfield. She enjoyed all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are three children, Beth Burton and husband Mike of Seminole, Fla., Mark Maynard and wife Lisa of Round Rock and Perry Maynard and wife Tami of Jacksonville, Texas; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
