Funeral services for Paul Waylon Lancaster, 84, of Lexington took place Saturday, July 7, at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Bro. Carl Clark officiated. Interment followed the services at Dew Cemetery. Visitation was Friday, July 6, with the family present, at the funeral home. Lancaster passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple. Paul was born in Teague Oct. 17, 1933 to Henry Purvis and Mary Kate (Hughes) Lancaster. He was a graduate from Teague High School, class of 1952. Paul married Sybil White July 17, 1953. Lancaster entered into the United States Army and was stationed in El Paso for two years. He worked for A&M Construction for about 16 years before going to work for the phone company in Bryan in 1968. He later transferred with the phone company to Lexington where he remained. Paul retired in 1993 and enjoyed raising cattle. He was a very family oriented man. He is survived by his wife, Sybil White Lancaster of Lexington; three children, Michael Lancaster and wife Shirley of Lexington, Debra Lancaster Handrick and husband Ronald of Fedor, Ricky Lancaster and wife Deborah of Ledbetter; seven grandchildren, Logan Lancaster and wife Raelyn, Scott Jason Handrick, Stephanie Handrick Clopton and husband Bubba, Shanna Handrick Wagner and husband Cameron, Jackie Handrick and husband Shannon, Heather Moske and husband Timothy, April Treybig and husband Brad; thirteen great-grandchildren and twin great-grandsons on the way; and one sister, Jessie Owen of Garland. Lancaster was preceded in death by two sisters, Lavelle and Jean; and three brothers, Jack, Bill and Ed. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Dew Cemetery, P.O.
