Paul Anthony Smart, Age 47

Graveside services for Paul Smart will be held on Friday, April 17, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Hooker Ridge Cemetery in Lone Oak, Texas.

Smart passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2020 at Freestone Medical Center in Fairfield.

Paul Anthony Smart was born on July 6, 1972 in Alexandria, La. He graduated from Rapides High School in Alexandria and then moved to Lone Oak, Texas. He moved to Teague in 2013. Paul was a truck driver all of his working life, hauling rock, cattle and oil field equipment. He was currently employed with Duane Livingston Trucking Co. as a heavy hauler. He loved working outside, working on his trucks, and enjoyed watching westerns. Paul also loved his dog, Shelby.

Mr. Smart is survived by his wife, Angie Laxton of Teague; three children, Michael Smart, Kristen Haynes, Taylor Laxton, Scotty Smart and Harley Laxton; one granddaughter, Brenlie Laxton; his mother, Mickey Young; his stepmother, Wanda Smart; five siblings, Kenneth Smart Jr Ginger Zeda, Chris Smart, Nicole Henry, and Brett Smart and wife Bethany.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Smart Sr; his grandparents, Arthur and Elsie Smart; and his uncle, Bo Smart.
