PATSY ANDERSON HALL

Longtime Teague resident Patsy Anderson Hall left this world and was welcomed into her Heavenly home on June 25, 2021, at the age of 85.

Patsy was born on March 28, 1936, in Meridian to parents Roy and Vera Anderson. Patsy met her soulmate, Rufus Floyd Hall, while working as a waitress in Meridian after graduating high school. Patsy and Rufus moved to Teague in 1956 and married July 1, 1957, in Teague.

In 1956, Rufus bought the Freezette, which later became the Tasty Burger, where Patsy worked as a cook. After purchasing the Tasty Burger, Patsy and Rufus went on to own Hall-Owens Ford in Teague, as well as several other businesses in the surrounding area.

Patsy and Rufus went on to have three children, Randall Roy Hall of Las Vegas, Nev.; Candace Verae Hall-Cordova of Teague; and Roger Wayne Hall, of Teague.

As a young girl, Patsy accepted Christ and was baptised in faith. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Teague.

Patsy is preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Floyd Hall, of 36 years; parents, Roy and Vera Anderson; brother, LeRoy Anderson; sister, Wyleta Anderson Malone; and stepson, R.F. Hall.

Patsy is survived by her son, Randall Hall of Las Vegas; daughter, Candace Hall-Cordova, of Teague; and son, Roger Hall, of Teague; grandson, Preston Keith Cordova, of Teague, Keith’s wife, Alexandra Hamilton Cordova, of Teague; and great-granddaughters, Preslee Kyle Cordova and Paityn Lee-Ann Cordova, of Teague.

Patsy was an avid tennis player. She worked endlessly to help raise money to build new tennis courts at the Teague City Park. Patsy brought the Baylor University Tennis Team members to Teague in order to offer free tennis lessons to get the people of Teague interested in playing.

Patsy was an extremely generous soul who loved big. She was dedicated to the youth of Teague. While her sons played Little League baseball, Patsy ran the association and concession stands every summer. She and her long-time friend, Joycie Burns, worked together to keep the Teague City Pool open for all citizens. She and Rufus also sponsored many young boys who could not afford to play Little League baseball.
