Friday, April 15

Noon – First United Methodist Church of Fairfield will offer a Good Friday at service. The service will feature the story of Jesus’ arrest, trial and crucifixion. We’ll have a time to pray and consider what Jesus’ gift of his life means to us.

Noon – St. James United Methodist Church and Titus Chapel United Methodist Church will present a midday Good Friday service. The service will be held at St. James United Methodist Church, which is located at 421 Tyler St. in Teague. All are invited to come and remember the greatest act of love that was shown to mankind. 10 a.m.-1 p.m. – Mimosa Morning. Wake up and shop in Fairfield! Participating businesses include, Dessert by Mommacakes, Armadillo Emporium, Brenda’s Closet, Hope & Co., Tallulah Rey, Kennedy’s Korner, Creations Flowers & Gifts, Kountry Klutter, Accessories, Etc., Southern Bound and Pack N Mail.

Sunday, April 17

7 a.m. – First United Methodist Church of Fairfield will offer an Easter sunrise service in the grassy area outside the church, (will be moved indoors in the case of bad weather). After the service of celebration all are invited to join us for breakfast. Another Easter celebration service will be at 11 a.m.

7:30 a.m. – First Baptist Church of Donie will sponsor a community-wide Easter Sunrise Service. The service will be held outdoors at the Donie Community Center, weather permitting. If the weather is inclement, the service will move into the Community Center. The service is open to all who live in and around Donie.

7:45 a.m. – Hilltop Lakes Chapel will be celebrating the resurrection of our living Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We invite you to join us as we glorify the Son of God, who sacrificed his life for us, whom God raised from the dead, and who gives us new and abundant life.

There will be a wonderful morning of fellowship, breakfast, and morning worship services. 7:45 a.m.–”Sunrise” Service (outside), 8:30 a.m.–Breakfast served, 9:15 a.m.– Christian Egg Hunt, 9:30 a.m.–Sunday School for Adults, Chapel Youth, and Chapel KIDZ, and 10:45 a.m.–Worship Service, featuring inspirational choral music with brass choir.

Thursday, April 21

Noon – The Friends of Fort Boggy State Park will mee at the City of Centerville Municipal Building for its second Quarterly Meeting of the year. We will start gathering at 11:30 a.m. for a light lunch and the meeting will begin at noon. This meeting is open to the public and we encourage anyone with an interest in Fort Boggy State Park to come and join us. Results from our Annual Kid Fish event will be presented. Additionally, there will be a park report given on various activities and projects that are underway at the park.

The Friends of Fort Boggy is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and assisting Fort Boggy State Park in its mission of connecting youth and families to the great outdoors. Through various educational programs we strive to develop stewards of our natural resources for future generations to come.

Noon – Veterans free lunch. The April Veterans health care lunch will feature information on Parkinson’s disease. It will be held at the VVA/DAV Hall on Gardner Drive at The Hall at 927 Gardner Drive, which is located behind Mattern Tire on SH 155 North. Four Palestine health care providers have been sponsoring this series of monthly free lunches. They include Brookdale Senior Living, Heart to Heart Hospice, Encompass Health, and TruCare Living Center. The Parkinson’s presentation will be presented by Deanna Adams, a licensed Family Nurse Practitioner. The lunch is open for all area Veterans, Veteran’s families, and any individuals interested in Veterans health care issues.
