Noreeta Lane

Funeral services for Noreeta Lane were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 29 at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Bro. Jeff Wright officiated. Interment followed the services at Dew Cemetery. Lane passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018, at her residence near Dew. She was born on June 26, 1937, to Roland and Mildred Briggs, and grew up in Mexia. Noreeta married Harvey Lane on Aug. 1, 1953, and shared over sixty-four years of marriage together. She was a dedicated homemaker for her husband, sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren all of her life. Lane enjoyed playing games especially Bingo. She was a Baptist by faith. She is survived by Harvey Lane, Sr. of Dew; four sons, Harvey C. Lane, Jr. and wife Latresa of Mexia, William (Bill) Lane and wife Shirley of Prairie Hill, Freddie Lane and wife Melinda of Dew, and Mike Lane and wife Tracye of Cross Roads; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two brothers, Gary Webb and wife Linda of Redlands, Calif., and James Webb and wife Linda of Mexia; one sister, Donna Sue Heager and husband Richard of Fairfield; numerous nieces and nephews including a special niece, Tami Reed McKamie and husband Bryant; other relatives and friends.
