Nona Faye Hartless

Funeral services for Nona Faye Hartless, 88, took place Saturday, Jan. 5, at Bowers Funeral Home. Bro. Roy Prather officiated. Interment followed the services at Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation took place with the family present at the funeral home.

Ms. Hartless passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2018, at Providence Hospice Place in Waco.

Nona was born May 29, 1930 in Trinity to C.D. “Red” and Olga Baker.

She graduated from Trinity High School in 1948. After graduation she worked for Dunn and Bradstreet in Houston.

She married her high school sweetheart, R. J. Hartless Sept. 9, 1950.

They were married for over 62 years until they were separated by his death Nov. 9, 2012.

She worked for Texas Sportwear in Mexia, Miss Vida’s in Fairfield, was a dealer for Tri-Chem Paints, and she worked for Teague Pottery until it closed. R. J. and Nona moved to Teague Hunting and Fishing Club Lake in 1974 where they enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Nona also enjoyed painting, quilting, sewing, and baking cookies for the great-grandchildren.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and greatgreat grandmother; she was faithful and loving to her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Marcia Dunnahoe and husband Charlie, and Dianne McAlpine; two sons, Marvin Hartless and fiancé Delores, and Mart Hartless and partner Joe all of Teague; eight grandchildren and their spouses; twenty-one great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one brother, Bennie Ray Baker and wife Gloria of Friendswood; one sister, Vida Dean and partner Joe of Newport Beach, Calif.; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Ms. Hartless was preceded in death by her husband, R. J. Hartless; her parents; and her baby sister.
