Nettie Mae Yeaman
Funeral services for Nettie Yeaman were held on Wednesday, June 14, at 10 a.m. at the Fairfield Church of Christ. Interment services followed at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Pallbearers will include family members Jeff Yeaman, Jay Yeaman, Daniel Yeaman, Jess Yeaman, Ross Corder, and Andrew Bryngelson.
Nettie passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023, in her home in Teague, surrounded by her family. She was 95 years old.
She was born in Hillsboro, on Aug. 10, 1927, to Laudie John Myers and his wife, Gladys Ethel Pendleton. She was their only child, named after their mothers.
Nettie grew up in Hillsboro, where she later met and married the love of her life, Clifford Rudolph “Rudy” Yeaman, on Dec. 22, 1946.
Nettie briefly attended Baylor University and later graduated from Texas Christian University with a commercial art degree in 1948. Later in life, she would return to school to become a teacher, while raising her children.
Nettie moved to Natchez, Mississippi, in 1957. In the 1980s, Rudy built their beloved, two-story home, where she lived until 2015.
She was a devout Christian and a faithful member of the church of Christ her whole life. She taught ladies’ bible classes and Sunday school classes for children.
After obtaining her teaching certification, Nettie taught in Mississippi public schools for many years.
Nettie was an avid gardener and enjoyed tending her rose garden in Mississippi. She was also interested in painting, ceramics, and quilting.
Manyofherartisticprojects were displayed in her Natchez eaman home, and many still grace the walls of those she loved.
She loved her sons, and considered their wives, Lorene, Melanie, and Karen, as her daughters. She was also very proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Laudie John Myers and Gladys Ethel Myers; her husband of 51 years, Clifford Rudolph Yeaman; and her eldest son and daughter-inlaw, Timothy and Lorene Yeaman.
Nettie, affectionately known as “MawMaw” by many, is survived by her two sons and their wives, Jeff and Melanie Yeaman of Rocksprings and Jay and Karen Yeaman of Teague, and is also survived by six grandchildren: Daniel Yeaman and wife Jennifer, Robyn Yeaman, Jessup Yeaman and wife Kelsey, Bethanie Corder and husband Ross, Ashley Yeaman, and Natalie Bryngelson and husband Andrew; six great-grandchildren: Scott, William, Torin, Cora, Lowell, and Clayton; and many beloved cousins and extended family.
