Neal Bottoms

Funeral services for Neal Bottoms, 61, were held on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Bro. Scott Matthews officiated. Visitation was held on Friday with the family present from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Bottoms passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Medical City Hospital in Dallas. He was born on October 20, 1955, in Teague, and graduated with the Teague High School class of 1974. After high school, Neal went to work for Fred Owens Construction for several years. He later worked as a diesel mechanic for Bobby Rutherford, but most of his working career was with Pactiv in Corsicana. He married Cora on August 6, 1976, and shared over forty-one years of marriage together. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting, and also wood working. He is survived by his wife, Cora Jean of Mexia; one son, Tony Otis & wife Charity of Hanover, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Misty Estill & husband Chad of Wimberley; five grandchildren, Cayden Otis, Tanner Otis, Lainey Estill, Ava Estill, and Gavin Estill; two sisters, Faye Nell Sims & husband Gary of Mexia and Kay Cannon & husband Ricky of Fairfield; one brother, J. W. Bottoms & wife Darla of Fairfield; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Bottoms was preceded in death by his parents, Alvis & Frances Bottoms; one brother, Blain Bottoms; one niece, Brittnee Sims; and one nephew, J. W. Bottoms, II.
