Funeral services for Mick Atchley Morgan was held on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague.

Bro. Stephen Davenport officiated. Visitation was held prior to the service on Saturday, Dec. 2, beginning at 1 p.m.

Mick Atchley Morgan was born on Jan. 22, 1998, and passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 27, 2023, far too early at the young age of 25.

Mick is survived by his mother, Kimberly Morgan of Fairfield; sister, Lane Morgan of Anaheim, California; grandparents, Mick and Jo Ann Atchley of Teague; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and his kitten Rico.

His loved ones are devastated and shocked by his passing. Mick grew up in Teague, and graduated from Teague High School in 2016.

After graduation he immediately enlisted in the United States Air Force serving as a firefighter stationed at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey.

After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, Mick attended Sam Houston State University and subsequently transferred to the University of North Texas, majoring in history and participating in M organ unionized labor activism.

Mick was an avid reader, lover of music, deep thinker, and curious soul who was passionate and interested in advocating for the individual worker.

Our hearts are broken, but we find solace knowing he has found peace and is now at rest in God’s arms.
