Mick Atchley

Funeral services for Mick Atchley will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Bro. Stephen Davenport will officiate. Mr. Atchley will be cremated following the services.

Visitation will be held prior to the services beginning at 12:30 p.m.

Michael Glenn “Mick” Atchley passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Friday, July 5, 2024. Mick was born on March 20, 1941, in Dew to Sidney and Blanche Atchley.

He wa a beloved husband, Mick father, grandfather, great-grandfather, Mick married his sweetheart, Jo Ann Morton, in 1964 at the Freestone Baptist Church. Together, they raised four children, Michael Atchley and wife Julie, Michelle Cormack and husband Dave, Stephanie Owens and husband A tchley Jackie, and Kimberly Morgan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Blanche Atchley; his brother, Eddie Atchley; his sister, Patsy Obert; and his grandson, Mick Morgan.

His memory will be forever held in the hearts of his surviving family. In addition to Jo Ann and his children, Mick also leaves behind ten cherished grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, June Donnelly, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mick was immensely proud of his family, and he found great joy in their accomplishments and togetherness. He will be remembered for his intelligence, humor, dedication to his family, and the countless memories shared with loved ones. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Freestone Baptist Church, 738 FM 80 S., Teague, TX 75860.
