Michael Blair Dye

Funeral services for Michael Blair Dye, 70, will be held on Friday, Dec. 20, 2019, at 11:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Teague. The Rev. Jason Huffman will officiate.

Visitation will be held prior to the services on Friday beginning at 10 a.m. at the church.

Mr. Dye passed away on Friday, Dec. 13, 2019, at Freestone Medical Center in Fairfield.

He was born in Long Beach, Calif., on Dec. 29, 1948. Mr. Dye served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. After his service, he worked as an electronics technician in Houston for ATEC, J&S Refrigeration, and at Rice University for almost 20 years. Michael married Judy Mixon on Dec. 5, 1975, and shared more than 44 years of marriage together. He enjoyed studying astronomy and was an avid reader and had a large collection of books of a wide variety. Mr. Dye enjoyed being in the country and living at his retirement home in Teague. He was a Presbyterian, but attended church with his wife at the First United Methodist Church in Teague.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Ann Dye of Teague; one daughter, Teresa Janecek and husband Thomas of Princeton, Texas; one stepson, Robert Jay Baker of Houston; four grandchildren, Allison Janecek, Rachael Janecek, Lauren Janecek and Patrick Janecek; one sister, Charmaine Behee and husband Robin of Conroe; and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Dye was preceded in death by one brother, Dana Dye.
