MARY ANN REEVES

Graveside services for Mary Ann Reeves will take place Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 11 a.m. at Salem Cemetery near Freestone. Rev. Richard Gillet will officiate.

There will be no visitation.

Mrs. Reeves passed away Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020, at the Teague Nursing Home.

She was born in Teague Dec. 22, 1938, to Guy and Lillie Mae Persons.

Mary Ann married Jerry Reeves Nov. 17, 1986 and shared over thirty-two years of marriage together until being separated by his death May 25, 2019.

She worked as a waitress for a couple of local restaurants in Teague before moving to Florida where she spent several years before returning to Teague in 2003.

Mary Ann worked as a Veterinarian Technician in both Florida and for Dr. Allen Greer Hicks in Teague for many years.

She also worked at the Thrift Store on Main Street in Teague.

She was a Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR fan, especially of Richard Petty and Tony Stewart.

Mary Ann was an avid reader, enjoyed growing plants and loved to watch hummingbirds.

Mrs. Reeves attended Peace Ministries Church in Teague.

She is survived by one daughter, Laressa Hall of Teague; ten grandchildren, Erica Graeter, Aaron Cox, Jeremy Cox, Kristin Byrd, Brian Cox, Jr., Christopher Bowen, Samantha Pounders, Jason Cox, Jacob Evans, and Carrie Evans; fifteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Frances Owen of Dew; one brother-in-law, George Reeves and wife Kathy of Rusk; daughter-in-law, Elisa Webster of Teague; a special nephew, Glynn Crosley of Teague as well as numerous other nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Mrs. Reeves was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Reeves; three sons, Kenneth Cox, Jr., Jerry Dean Cox, and Brian Keith Cox; one daughter, Deann Holland; one grandson, Brandon Cox; her parents, Guy and Lillie Mae Persons; and two brothers, Pete Persons and Guy Persons, Jr.
